One of the best spots on the west side to grab a bite to eat, Deli Sandros has been going non-stop since its opening years ago. Owner Anthony D'Allessandro never sits still. His shop has changed from one room to two, from selling some convenience items and subs to current focus on food --- and it's good food!

Of course, a significant fact is that the storefront was totally converted into a clean and open modern shop from what it was in the past. It has been part of the conversion of S. Plymouth, since the U of R opened its residences down the road.

Now, Deli Sandros will be moving kitty-corner across the street into what was once the Brothers Club. The building has been totally remodeled. The deli will be on the first floor, and there are apartments upstairs. They plan to move by the end of March. In addition to serving the current menu, which has had recent additions, they will offer wings and pizza. There will be more seating, with three times the space.

More exciting news --- in May, Tony will open The Tin Roof at the corner of Jefferson and S. Plymouth. With a rustic Everglades feel, this bar will have a kitchen offering appetizers, and patrons will be able to order from Deli Sandros across the street. Construction has been underway for months, and this appealing attraction will have retractable windows for summer, so you will feel open space as if you are sitting outside. As Tony said, “We did what nobody would expect.”

John and Marian Boutet and Mark Sweetland got an advance look and that is true. With the addition of the garden and museum on the opposite corner, for Legacy Park, honoring black historic members of the community, this intersection is really looking up. So pleased for all the development put into this by Tony and his brother. But I miss seeing Mary in the deli!

Go to Deli Sandros website at http://www.delisandros.com/ to order ahead or see their menu.  All of their food is great!  They now prepare many ingredients in-house, so fresh.  IE roast their own beef, bake their own cookies, etc.  Best place for food on the west side of the river, if you don't feel like cooking.  They also cater for corporate or home events.

I started an online promotion for location19 users. Get $5 off when you spend $15. Valid one time for new or returning customers on pick-up or delivery. Order must be placed online at www.delisandros.com using coupon code "location19".

Cheers!
