We were sad to see Food Lovers leave this address last fall.  It is nice to see that a new diner, Sonny's Side Family Kitchen, has opened in that 366 Thurston Road location.  This address is  near the north end of the block Hunts is on.

The red arrow points to the restaurant.  Actually they have changed the sign since I shot the panorama.  The sign is now as shown in the inset and the photo below.  They are open  7 days a week from 7:00am to 3:00pm.

Other than the change in the signs the outside looks pretty much the same.  They do have curtains in the window behind the venetian blinds that do make the inside look a good deal better.

Once you walk in, the inside looks very different.  There are now booths along the north side of the room and the kitchen area has had several changes with an L-shaped counter taking up less room than the previous arrangement.  The waitress and cook came with menus when we walked in and sat down.

As you can see from the menu, there is a large selection and the food is very reasonably priced.  The two sides of the menu are shown here side by side.  The fact that this is their first menu is impressive.  The fact that the numbers on both sides start with one is a bit confusing.  If one side is breakfast and the other lunch it's not marked.

While we were there Ebony, one of the owners, came in and we got a chance to talk with her.  I'm sure she will be looking for feedback on what people like and dislike, so be sure to add your thoughts below with the Reply option.
