Permits have been obtained for the California Rollin' and Subway, with opening expected sometime this fall (sorry, I've given up on posting dates!).

The final spot is planned for a pizza shop.

Photos taken at the garden at the corner of Ravenwood and Thurston Road.  The dew was still sparking on one some of the leaves.  I spent a few minutes picking up litter and pulling out little maple trees while waiting to meet a colleague for another project.

Signs.....we've had a number of calls with concerns about neon signs, especially on Thurston Road.  We will be visiting all of the stores, starting on Thurston, to let the owners know exactly what the city codes include for signs.   For example, while neon signs may be allowed, flashing signs or signs with moving lights are not permitted.  The "neon" outlined windows that seem popular are not currently addressed in the code, although they may be considered "attention getting".  Watch for updates on proposed changes to zoning codes!

Here's a quick update on Thurston Road Facades.  Three are in progress right now, with a slight delay due to material issues.  Don Hanks has been out daily checking on the status, and taking photos of the work - watch for more photos!

Take a drive down Thurston Road and you should see work in progress on the first storefront facade improvements - three businesses in the first round. Several more are in the works!
