Do you want your children and neighbors to feel safe when bicycling, walking or playing in your neighborhood? Are speeding cars a problem on your street?
Communities across the country have made their streets safer by putting in speed humps, curb bump-outs and other features that slow down traffic. These features discourage speeding and prevent serious accidents, making streets more accessible for bicyclists, pedestrians, and other users.
In the 19th Ward, City of Rochester is starting work on two bike boulevard projects, and now is your chance to ask officials to make your streets safer. Contact Mike Bulger, Healthy Communities Project Coordinator for Healthi Kids, to learn more about these projects and what you can do as a resident to make your streets safer for all!
