The 19th Ward Community Association's Schools Committee was reactivated in the spring of 2013 to deal with school issues for the four schools in the 19th Ward: Schools 10, 16, 29 and 44.

The Mission Statement for the Schools Committee is:

  • to work for the development of quality neighborhood schools within the 19th Ward, committed to success for each student and the well-being of the community.
  • to advocate on educational issues pertaining to the entire metropolitan community, especially the city of Rochester.
  • to coordinate educational activities that improve the quality of life in the 19th Ward.

LaShay Harris, 19WCA president, appointed John Laing as the School Committee Chair.   The 19WCA posts the Minutes of the Schools Committee at: http://www.19wca.org/home/committees/schools-committee-documents   There are currently some posting problems with that site and I will be posting past and future minutes in the SW Education Forum group.  I will add a 19WCA Schools Com. Minutes Index page for those minutes.

For the time being, the following links will get you to the minutes of the 19WCA  Schools Committee meetings for 2013:
