We committed to have a spelling bee for our four schools (10,16,19 and 29) during this school year in coordination with the fraternity, RCSD, U of R, and RACF. Now we need to determine a format that will work in the home of COVED-19
RocCity Learning Pods (Brittany Rumph)
Brittany provided information on learning pods (grades K-6, groups of 10-12 students and adults) to meet weekly to provide tutoring. Her pod uses the Phyllis Wheatly library. The children are required to live in the city, but can be from Charters as well as RCSD. The library is funding pods in a number of locations (not yet for the Arnett branch). The cost is $18,000 for a 12 week session. Brittany can provide additional information
Rochester Coalition for Public Education
This organization lobbied successfully for a monitor to be appointed to assist the RCSD in meeting financial and educational goals. One candidate has been recommended to the State.
