Spelling Bee Status (Douglas Giebel)

Last year’s spend along with this year’s budget have been sent to RACF For funding. Saturday sessions at the library have started and we Discussed various options for mementos. Communication with school coordinators has been initiated. Sarah agreed to take the lead in determining what information we would need for permission slips. Fraternity brothers will be at the January meeting.

Rochester Coalition for Public Education

Members met with Regent Wade Norwood to get his sense feedback on the proposal. He agreed that the busing issue is worth refreshing and revisiting. 

School Updates

Lee was unable to attend but submitted a summary of activities at school 10. Lots of tutoring by members of the Rochester Engineering Society.

School 29 has been recruiting focused on neighborhood students.

New Business

Dan distributed information on a Presidential Candidate Forum on Public Education: Equity and Justice for all on Saturday December 14.

The next committee meeting will be Tuesday January 7th at 7 pm in the 19th Ward Community Association office.
