Spelling Bee (April 6 at U of R)

We will evaluate the efficacy of the bus picking up the students at schools 19 and 33, rather than just 19. Dana Miller will emcee and Walter Cooper has agreed to talk. Details for the day of the Bee continue to be worked.

Superintendent selection

The receivership process has taken over

Next steps on local busing

School 17 is experimenting with a ½ mile distance for busing, rather than 1 and ½ miles. The % of students living close to the school has increased to 70%, and the metrics have shown improvement

School reports and receivership

The inclusion playground at school 29 is on hold.

Committee members have been busy with the receivership process at schools 10, 16, 19 and Wilson Foundation. There have been differences in approach and we’ll soon have more information.

School 16 is having its project fair Thursday, March14

The next committee meeting will be Tuesday April 2nd at 7 pm in the 19th Ward Community Association office.
