Welcome & Introductions
School Updates
Andrea Lee introduced herself as the new principal for School #19; Andrea was formerly the School #2 principal. School #19 is growing by 120 students. No longer a middle school; new student orientation on 8/19 to welcome new students and their parents. Will keep the Arts for All program and are working to maintain programs that were formerly instituted. No longer in receivership
Andrea getting calls from School #2 Parents not understanding that School #25 has taken over School #2. There is some confusion and disappointment in loss of another neighborhood school.
RCSD staff receiving training for implementing the new curriculum model.
Lee Loomis is scheduling a lunch date with Sylvia Cooksie to see if there’s any information about what is happening at School #10, now to be School #53. Lee has provided tutors for 10 years. Teachers will need to see what the tests show as far as summer-learning loss which would then help better assess tutor needs.
