Thanks to spectacular weather, outstanding musicians and friendly neighbors and merchants, the 2nd Annual "Ease on Down Thurston Road - and Arnett around the corner" was an amazing day! Music, music, music - from jazz at Holley's, to the Blues at the Thurston Bar and Grill, and on down to the SWAN Community Band at the Rochester Presbyterian Home. Along with the music, there were activities for young people at the Southwest Y on Thurston and at the Arnett Branch Library. Crime Prevention Officers were there from the NSC Office (and David Hawkes was spotted listening to the music), and PAC-TAC recruited and patrolled the area.
Food was available at the many businesses, and merchants had sidewalk sales and promotions going all afternoon. Thanks to all of the merchants who planned and executed this event, to the neighbors and customers who supported it by coming out, and to the musicians (most of them volunteers) who performed for so much of the afternoon.
If you have photos from the event, share them here! I'll be posting a few, and will add to the collection as others are collected.

I forgot to mention the support (invaluable!) from the City of Rochester, the 19th Ward Community Association, the Rochester Area Community Foundation, and many volunteers! This event was possible only because so many people worked incredibly hard to make it a success - it was a positive, fun experience, with absolutely no problems --- maybe we'll get some media attention next time!
Here is an album with the pictures I shot at this years Ease on Down event:
