I wanted to create a group to talk about things that are happening that affect us politically. I think we all need to be smart and active voters, and i hope that starting this group will help to facilitate that for the south west. This group is about sharing opinions and ideas. Its good to share feelings about the elected officials who represent us, but this really isn't the place to campaign for someone or flat out lambast the people you dislike.
The more active and aware we are in regards to the things that affect us politically, the stronger we will become as a voting block. The strength we develop as an active and informed voting group will necessitate our elected officials to become more receptive to addressing out interests and concerns.

Green Party Candidates at the Flying Squirrel 7/11/13
Hopefully we will get to see all the candidates in debates before the elections.
City elections are coming up this year. Make sure to educate yourself on ALL the choices. This includes the Green Rochester slate, which includes myself for City Council. http://www.greenrochester.org
Sample ballots are available. Make sure you know who all your options are. http://www.monroecounty.gov/etc/voter/index.php
Today, October 12th, is the last day to register to vote in this year's November elections!
While their is a riveting Democratic primary in the 137th District going on, please don't forget that their will be another option on the ballot in November. I am running as the Green Party's candidate in our district. Check out my campaign at http://drewlangdon.org/ for more information.
John, the City of Rochester petition is the link that I posted.
Voter Registration will take place at a Family/Youth themed Resource Fair, June 23, 2012 from 11-3. Flyer attached: ROC%20CITY%20YOUTH%20EVENT.pdf. There will be all sorts of entertainment, games, and vendors at this event. They will also have free food - while supplies last! See the attached flyer for additional information.

Drew's comment on corporate personhood is just right on. Corporations have won more Civil Right litigation than African Americans. However, I did not see a link for the city of Rochester residents on the linked site.
