Great news for the two branch libraries here in SW Rochester: State Senator Michael H. Ranzenhofer has announced $56,000 in state funding for five public libraries throughout Monroe County including the Arnett and Phillis Wheatley Libraries!

City of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren has initiated a Cool Sweep Heat Emergency for Thursday, August 4, 2016, in anticipation of temperatures that are expected to reach 90 degrees. The Arnett, Lincoln, Maplewood and Winton Branch Libraries will stay open later, until 9:00 pm, on Thursday evening, August 4, 2016 to allow people an air conditioned place to go to get relief from the heat. All other city branches and Central Library will close at their normal times.

It is time to make nominations for the Rochester Regional Library Council's Library of the Year Contest. Last year the Arnett Branch Library was selected Public Library of Year! The Arnett Block Club is doing a family friendly Christmas event from 6 pm to 7 pm tonight at the award winning garden on the corner of Wellington and Arnett Blvd. There will be caroling and hot cocoa by the Christmas tree. If it is raining at that time the event will take place at the Arnett Branch Library.
