The Week Highlight!
- Goal mapping: the group and I discussed short term, long term, and bucket list. With this activity each person wrote out and personalize their own "vision board". This is something they can reference back to so they don't lose sight of their goals.
-Role playing: We did a lot of practicing before we headed out into the streets to interview local employers each person practiced being an interviewer (themselves), store worker, and observer.
-Cooking with Lisa: We made delicious zucchini chip seasoned in bread crumbs and parmesan cheese!
-Surveying local business with Joan, Alonzo, Donald, and myself we covered parts of Genesse, Chili, West Main, and Jefferson. We also began to put our information in a database.
-Rochester Works: The group received a workshop on interview do's and don'ts which was extremely informative and even I learned some useful information!
-Public Market trip: Each person interview a business and then we received a tour of the beautiful wall art on Pennsylvania Ave behind the market.
Overall, this week was fun! I think its safe to say we all enjoyed ourselves. As a whole the group is becoming more confident talking to employers I'm proud of them all!
