Thanks for joining Location19. I look forward to your participation and am more than happy to answer questions that may come up as you get familiar with the site. Here is some info to help you use this site. Now that you are a member one of the most important things to do in order to follow what is going on in Location19.org is to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site even if you don't check it every day. You can also find a list of new information posted by looking at the Latest Activity column on the left side of the Main page.
Check out A Brief Overview on Location19 Structure to get familiar with what's where. Now that you are a member, when you sign-in, you can post to the Main Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there. Options for doing these things do not show if you are not signed in. Only the most recently added 20 groups are shown in the column to the right. In the tabs above, under the banner picture, Be sure to check out the "All Groups - Icons" sub-tab under the Connect tab. We are currently up to 69 groups and over 690 members.
To join a group such as SW Education Forum, click on the group, then in the upper right of the group page just under the banner picture, next to your name click on +Join SW Education Forum and you are a group member! You will also want to join the SW Common Council (SWCC) group which involves all the neighborhoods in the SW Quadrant. Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.
There is a ton of information you can search for and read through on Location19. Be sure you make use of the search options.
I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.
