Hello,
I recently joined the Location 19 website to make you aware of a college bar that is opening in my neighborhood. I am a longtime resident on S Plymouth Ave and I just became aware of a gentleman that is trying to open up a college bar at 1155 S Plymouth Ave. This is the same gentleman that has been buying up properties for students and evicting my friends and neighbors. I do not think the neighborhood needs a college bar. We will be inundated with drunk college kids on Friday and Saturday nights. The city and neighborhood must stand up to prevent this bar. It will only bring trouble. The bar name is Plymouth Roc. That is the same name of the gang that terrorized our streets years ago. We do not need this. We do not want this.

Wow..if you intend to transform that eyesore into this, I'm impressed. Maybe you could cater more to the neighborhood folks during the daytime, that is, no ear splitting music, moderate prices on the menu, and don't forget umbrellas for the outside tables.
It is a work in progress, but that is definitely something that is doable. I appreciate the support!
Very much like the new possible name 'Thee Plymouth Pub'. What will be on the 2nd floor?
Nice! The second floor will most likely be apartments.
"Thee" means "you," not "your," so this name is confusing. On the other hand, "The Plymouth Pub" sounds classy.
or you could try "thy plymouth pub" or "thou plymouth pub" or "thine plymouth pub"....... "the plymouth pub" sounds just fine and it's all better than plymouth roc!

Looking forward to having a beer in your bar. I will bring friends, we are all (older) adults, but might stay late just the same. In fact, if you have music, I will be dancing. Thanks for helping us build a stronger neighborhood
Jacqueline, Thanks! I will keep an eye out!
Hey Everyone!
We are going to be at the PLEX meeting this coming Tuesday! We want to hear concerns and ideas from the community so we can be sure to address them appropriately when the time comes.
Hey Everyone!
It has been a while since our last update. So I figured a check in is due! We attended the PLEX meeting February 14th. The primary concerns centered around family friendliness, the name, and parking. We got some really great feedback that we used to positively evolve the concept. I am very excited to share it. There are a few technicalities we are working out to ensure we can deliver. I can tell you that the name Plymouth ROC is absolutely no longer being considered! Lastly, Parking. We have gone to the drawing board and are currently working on some potential site plan changes to maximize parking in the rear of the building. The changes would add an additional 6 spaces of OFF STREET parking. I am anticipating the next update to be mid next week - I plan to post the new concept, an up-to-date site/floor plan as well as an alternative decor! As always any ideas are welcome.
