A message from MacClurg Vivian to all members of Southwest Garden Group on Location19.org!
>
> AT least two of us on this list would like to completely redo our backyards and get rid of the grass and put in stones, paths, probably some dirt, since mine floods in the heavy rain, thaw. My grass has shallow roots, is sparse, in clay and shade most of any day. Is there anyone out there that would meet with us to help us plan for the assault, that is transformation, not too expensively?  Regards to all, MacClurg

How about for our next meeting we get together at MacClurg's and do a planning session?  We would  need to assess conditions, so best when there is no snow.  Maybe end of March for those interested?  MacClurg, pick a day and time that would be good for you if you want to do this.  Sunday afternoons seemed good for others for previous sessions.

We can help with planning, and later, even doing, if people want.  Others with similar situations can see this as a demo on what they can do.  What do you think?

Wow, what an offer....if there are any takers. I am in. Is April 18 Sunday too late. I hope the snow will be gone by then, one never knows..... Let me know. Thanks Mark!
That's a great time to do this planning. Let's go for it! Anybody who wants to attend let us know and we will have a meeting at MacClurg's! Let's make it at 2 PM, April 18. E-mail msweetla@frontiernet.net. Thanks!

We are also planning other interesting activities for the coming year for the Garden Group.
I'm interested in attending what sounds to be a lot of fun! Redoing my backyard is something I've been dreaming of doing and I'd like to see and hear some good ideas. Do you want us to bring anything? Paper, pencils, gardening tools?
This will be the initial planning phase, so paper and pencil would be good. No tools yet! The thought is to take this yard through the season, ending up in Fall.
I'm interested in helping. I don't know anything about gardening but have always wanted to learn. I'm willing to put in some work for some pointers.
This year's gardenscape had some backyard gardens with paths and all - they were elaborate but maybe had some ideas you could use.
