Minutes – Housing Committee – November 2015

 

Present: Harlan Ost, Deb Leary, Donna Sarnacki, Victoria Simmons, Kathy O’Neill, Bruce Wilder, John DeMott, Kathy Goldberg

 

October minutes were approved with no corrections or additions.

 

Property Reports:

 

255 Sawyer St. – is on the December demolition hearing docket to force action. Keep on our list.

 

257 Barton St. – Sale pending via Will Realty. Still vacant. Keep on our list until sold to new owner.

 

381-383 Genesee St. – waiting for promised demolition by owner after Thanksgiving. Keep.

 

606 Post Ave. – Remove from our list. Does not look bad at this point.

 

126 Milton St. – No changes and no more information. Keep on our list.

 

177 Brooks Ave. – City ticketing has been ignored. It will go to housing court again. HSBC filed foreclosure in May 2015. Victoria will try to contact HSBC to let them know that an illegal repair garage is being operated on the property. Keep on our list.

 

817 Chili Ave. – still repairing cars also. Keep on the list.

 

301 Wellington Ave. – still a mess. John D. will photo and research.

 

262 Warwick Ave. – Vacant and secure. Did not go to auction. John D. will follow up to ascertain status.

 

261 Warwick Ave. – We need to take a look at this one. Bruce will check with the code inspector. Is it vacant? Deb will try some research on this one.

 

A joint meeting of 19th Ward Executive Committee, Zoning Committee, and Housing Committee will be held on Nov. 16th to formulate a position to present at City’s informational session on the proposed changes to Certificate of Occupancy for single-family homes.

 

New Business:

Add 757 Chili Ave. – fire damaged. Kathy G. will call NFA for information.

Add 15 Arvine Park – vacant and deteriorated. John will research.

Add 1160 Genesee St. – John D. will photograph and research.

 

Next meeting – December 10th, NSC Office (CANCELLED?)
