Event Description

Dear Neighborhood and Business Leaders,

I wanted to make you aware that members of the City Council along with stakeholders from the community and Police Department have been working over the past few months to review the way police complaints are handled through the Civilian Review Board process.

On Thursday, 8/23 at 5:30pm, Councilman McFadden, Chair of the Public Safety, Youth and Recreation Committee and the Chief of Police will hold a public hearing in City Council Chambers (City Hall, 30 Church Street, Downtown Rochester).

At this hearing you will have the opportunity to hear what the stakeholders have suggested for changes and also what items they feel are working.  After the brief presentation the public will be asked to give their feedback as well on the topic.  You do not have to sign up in advance to speak and we encourage people to attend regardless if they speak or not.

Please feel free to share this email with your organizations and any others that you feel would be interested in attending.  If you have any questions, please call the City Council Office at 585-428-7538.

Thank you.
