Event Description

The Little Free Libraries are popping up all over town, and now we will have one right here on Thurston Road.  Join us for this special event on Saturday with refreshments, the Matthew Corey Band, stories by Dolores Jackson Radney, Kids' Crafts with Jesse Knoth and Dolores Radney, Joel the Magician, and lots of books.  Take a book home, leave a book if you can.  The library and the installation are a gift from the Snowball Effect.  We will be inside and outside in order to manage the weather.

I think it is important to highlight the fact that Sheri Tehan has done a TON of work to make this a reality including; proposing and advocating for the installatin of this in our neighborhood, organizing the refreshments for the day and recruiting neighbors to make baked goods, working with the Snowball group to connect with the 19WCA for installation on Thurston, collecting books so the library will be operational on day one, going door to door to hand out 350 fliers to neighbors AND volunteering to be the steward for the library for 2 years!! Thank you Sheri for making this a reality in our neighborhood.
