Red Light Camera's

Posted on December 10, 2012 at 3:15pm 6 Comments

Yesterday's D&C had an interesting article on the red light cameras that are scattered throughout the City.

RED LIGHT CAMERA'S  It seems that 19th Ward residents have disproportionately received tickets for running red lights even though we have NONE of these cameras in our neighborhood. Given my experience with drivers here who routinely run stop signs I…

SPAM .... not a food being locally served but something that seems to be happening here!

Posted on February 22, 2012 at 1:24pm 0 Comments

I have sent an email to John and Marian but am posting here with the hope that others will note that it appears our page has been 'spammed' - by this I mean that a single member has joined every conceivable 'group' and is posting the same message over and over and over again. "SPAM" can make groups/discussions very difficult as people who visit the website have to wade through the spam to get to the 'real' discussions. If you're trying to 'follow' a discussion you've likely received many…

Good people in the 19th Ward

Posted on December 13, 2010 at 3:29pm 4 Comments

It's a very cold and snowy day here in the city and i decided to run some errands. While driving down Genesee Park Blvd I came across a man who was sitting on the corner of Lehigh with a bicycle laying next to him. A car had stopped but he waved them on. I slowed down to see if he got up and it seemed that he wasn't able to so I turned around stopped and talked with him. As I approached him he tried to get up but fell again. I offered to help him get up and then realized that he was…

Chili Ave Car Crash

Posted on October 30, 2010 at 12:26pm 3 Comments

I'm sure that some of you have seen the news of the horrific crash on Chili Ave last night..... I was one of the primary witnesses to the event as it occurred right in front of me (40 or so feet) when i was driving home from being away for a few days. I have seen a lot of horrible things in my life- this crash was the most violent i have ever witnessed. the car was in flames within seconds of impact and there was nothing that i could do to help possible occupants except call 911 and then direct… Continue

Hi Margy, at our meeting yesterday we talked about getting started on grant proposals, and sheri mentioned that you've got some experience with this. I do as well, and said I'd consult with MacClug vivian, who does a lot of grant-writing. We were very restrained about volunteering you in your absence :-), but I said I'd get in touch to see if you wanted to meet with MacClurg with me. Let me know if that will work, and what your schedule is like -- bad before 10/15, right?

Margy thanks for a great evening of wonderful food, conversation and new friends! Anthony and I had a great time. We can't stop talking about what a great place the 19th ward is to live. In all the places we have called home, we have never known more generous and welcoming people, then here in the 19h Ward.
