The Children’s Agenda is holding a press conference on Monday to release a policy brief, Understanding Hidden Drivers: Unique Challenges, High Costs, No Vote in Rochester City School District Budget. The brief is on the hidden drivers of RCSD’s annual budget. The event will focus on dispelling persistent myths, advocating for children-first solutions and evidence-based use of resources. This press conference is a call to action for all parents who want to learn more about how money is spent to educate their children.

The Rochester City School District is currently planning next year’s budget and looking at big issues like special education, transportation, neighborhood schooling and English as a Second Language, so if you want to improve how those resources are allocated, now’s the time to get involved!

Attendees will also have an opportunity to sign-up to help advocate for RCSD budget changes and participate in a parent survey to rate what budgetary issues are most important to them. Please join us on Monday, February 12 at noon to learn more.
