The Education Committee of the SW Common Council will meet Wednesday September 4th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Carlson Commons to discuss ways to support neighborhood schools in SW Rochester.
This is our first meeting in the PLEX neighborhood and we want to alert this neighborhood to the struggles the 19th Ward has faced trying to keep its 4 schools open. People are welcome from throughout the SW Rochester area. We had large participation from School 44 teachers at our August meeting and we hope to see their continued presence this month. That school draws students from all southwest neighborhoods and if it closes that affect all our neighborhoods. We need to encourage parents from all our schools to participate.
