Well, I just received a letter from the Southwest NSC (Carl Williamson) that on January 23, 2013, my toter was observed between the sidewalk and the curb 48 hours AFTER my scheduled pickup. The letter is dated January 23, 2013. Sorry, but I had to stop laughing before posting this.  BUT my pickup day is THURSDAY! So it would be to the curb on Wednesday January 23 until possible Friday January 25, 2013 at noon.  BUT MLK day was Monday January 21, so my pickup day would have been delayed one day until January 25, 2013.  It was picked up this morning......Now the real ironic thing about this is that due a handicapping condition, my garbage is picked up from my yard by a City of Rochester Refuse Collector which was started in December 2012!!!!   So my green rolling refuse container is NEVER curbside!!   Now the last sentence says to call him at 428-7630 9a-5p Monday thru Friday.  I just called at 1:30p TODAY, AND EVERYBODY IS EITHER OUT OT LUNCH OR GONE!! FIGURES!!

Judi.  I agree with you 100%.  I think we need to do a few things.  Set the expectation of owner and residnets high, and apply that expectation to both the owner and the resident.  I acknowledge that the landlord's motivation is profit.  I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing.  If we can explain to the landlord that if they screen their tenants and strive to rent to responsible individuals they will make more profit in the long run, while at the same time helping the neighborhood improve.  Admittedly in the short run it is more work as the landlord will have to make their apartment a little nicer and they will have to be a bit more patient in their selection process, but over time it is a far better, smoother and more profitable path.  We need to convince the landlords that doing what is necessary to help the neighborhood will also help their business.

We have asked again and again that notes be posted from the Public Safety meetings.  Apparently whoever runs them feels they can totally disregard public requests.  The 19th WCA owns the committee, and they should be asked why no reports are available.  Why cannot the public see some notes about what was discussed or mentioned at the meetings?

WHO ON IT????????

NASTY!

No doubt I will receive another 'Warning Letter' or maybe even a Fine Letter cause this is right next door to me! But best believe City Hall and its crew are 'ON IT'!! (joke) Gotta pick and choose my battles, and this is one I intend on fighting to the finish! Emails went out yesterday afternoon................

Mess at 32/34 cleaned up this morning bright and early.  Cans remain out at 77/79.......

When is your pickup day?

Thursday MORNING! Tomorrow, the cans at 77/79 will have been curbside 7 days!!!!!

You have to wonder what they're dong with their garbage this week!

The thought crossed my mind, but 79 usually toss their garbage in my toter instead of walking to the back of their house! I have been known to toss it right back on their front steps-AFTER DISCUSSING THE PROBLEM WITH THE LANDLORD ON 2 OCCASIONS!

garbage collection conducted early this morning..........we shall see or capture on camera after noon tomorrow.
