Well, I just received a letter from the Southwest NSC (Carl Williamson) that on January 23, 2013, my toter was observed between the sidewalk and the curb 48 hours AFTER my scheduled pickup. The letter is dated January 23, 2013. Sorry, but I had to stop laughing before posting this. BUT my pickup day is THURSDAY! So it would be to the curb on Wednesday January 23 until possible Friday January 25, 2013 at noon. BUT MLK day was Monday January 21, so my pickup day would have been delayed one day until January 25, 2013. It was picked up this morning......Now the real ironic thing about this is that due a handicapping condition, my garbage is picked up from my yard by a City of Rochester Refuse Collector which was started in December 2012!!!! So my green rolling refuse container is NEVER curbside!! Now the last sentence says to call him at 428-7630 9a-5p Monday thru Friday. I just called at 1:30p TODAY, AND EVERYBODY IS EITHER OUT OT LUNCH OR GONE!! FIGURES!!

There are a few of us older long-standing residents on this street who continue to attempt to set the bar for quality of life here. However this seems to be the thanks we get. My letter from the City is framed in my office to constantly remind me why I should not even care what goes on outside my door...sad situation. But as long as my tax bills continue to come on time with out fail, I can continue to speak.
Thanks for posting Judi. Different rules for different areas of the PLEX/19th Ward
There seem to be different rules for the type of trash set out and the times it can be set out. My next door neighbor set trash out Thursday night(pick up was Saturday this week)and as of 8:30 AM Sunday morning it is still on the street. My neighbor across the street must collect trash from I don't know where. They have had huge amounts of house trash like sinks, toilets, wood scraps and just plain junk week after week at the side walk and that gets picked up. In the fall I set out some tree branches the were larger than regulation size but bundled since I've seen it done on other streets. Mine was not picked up and I received a citation from the city the next day. A few weeks ago someone left tires on my front lawn. I called 311 three times before i got a call back from the refuse office. They might come pick up the tires but I may be charged with a violation since they are not regular trash. Go figure
No consistency whatsoever by the City in regards to the City of Rochester Code20-15. The codes are a JOKE! And the NSC enforcement staff.......................that's another box of trix!! Actually it's getting rather amusing. I feel your pain Inge! I wish you could what my street looks like today (Sunday) in regards to toters. Let's make this even more amusing. Let me get outside with my camera! Be back in a while!
Under the cover of darkness...................roll em down the street!
Pics taken Sunday January 27, 2013 around 1:00p (pickup was Friday January 25, 2013
OMG Judi.....How long has that trash been out at 32-34? Quite the picture.
Since early Saturday afternoon! (pick up day was Friday)

How long can it take to walk to the curb and retrieve the toter? Thank you for sharing. I'm sure none of those owners will get the same "love note" you got.
The toter sits here because as you can see, if i put it behind the back door, the Refuse Collector would take off my rear-view mirror to my SUV taking the toter to the street. THEN I would have something else to rant about! Jussayin..............
I see your point. Good luck with you "mission" Judi. We have to start speaking up when there is an issue. Maybe someone will eventually listen. Big changes start with small ones.
Just sent an email to David Hawkes, Joe Lake, Gary Kirkmeir, and Lynette with the attached photos....
