I drove by there this morning and the house is leveled and there is power shovel in the driveway that must have been used to knock down what was left after the fire.  I'm surprised they took it down so fast if it was suspicious, but then it sounds like the fire started in the garage and spread to the house.

The D&C also reported that there was a fire on Filmore on Friday (the paper did not give the address).  According to the paper, the fire was limited to the attic.  Assuming that there are now holes in the roof, we need to make sure that the property owner protects the house from the elements.  A house will deteriorate rather quickly once water is allowed to enter through the roof.

We can't afford to keep on losing 19th Ward houses.  We have too many "missing teeth" on too many of our streets.
