So I am going to try and do an on going focus into properties along Thurston Road. Today I am starting with 357-359 Thurston Road / 1-11 Penhurst St, since it is a property I see everyday, I thought it would be a good place to start.

I love what they website has to say about their properties.
"Tenants We manage some of the areas most desirable and affordable rentals. Our progressive staff members are consistently working to improve the quality of service and attention to detail are the best ways to provide comfortable communities for the people who have chosen our rentals. Our tenants feel comfortable knowing that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week they will be able to reach a qualified employee who will promptly address any maintenance issue as it relates to their safety or the integrity of your property."

Most desirable rentals??? Attention to details??? Really? Funny that the sofa out front of the place has been sitting there for a month now. Welcome to the neighborhood MARCUS & SOLOMON ASSOC LLC from your friends at Location19.

I am going to contact them and try to get a response. Ill post my response below.

My email to MARCUS & SOLOMON ASSOC LLC

On your website you claim to have "some of the most desirable properties". I live in a neighborhood near one of your properties. I was wondering if you could please invest sometime into cleaning and maintaining your properties? There are many folks in the 19th Ward that are trying hard and investing in the area. And we would appreciate, if you could help in this effort, and help create properties that are like you say "...some of the most desirable"
Thank you

THis entire thread (started in early Fall) is about Thurston Road with a specific emphasis on the blue row house property (357-359). The thread indicates that a lot of concerned citizens sent information to NSC (email and online complaints) yet here we are just a few months later with the exact SAME problem of excessive trash.
Given that the city is FULLY aware of this being a problem property (as it has been for years) I'd really like to know what the CITY is doing - and what kind of fines have been levied, etc. What's the update on getting the landlords/property owner's to DO SOMETHING!
I believe that we, concerned citizens, have done our part in terms of lodging complaints, attending meetings, taking photos, writing letters yet there are no substantial changes on Thurston Road.....WHY??? Many of us have made our voices heard- loud and clear, multiple times and in multiple arenas. The questions for me are this: "is anyone listening"? "does anyone who can DO something about this care?"........ or are we just talking into an empty canyon with our concerns echoing about with no real response!?
