DeWain, I've never participated in this before, so I don't know what is exactly involved with it. I can tell you that I'm on Virginia Ave and I'm trying to get Virginia and Post involved in it. I'm trying to get the school across the street (used to be #37, not sure exactly what number it is now) involved as well. I've been in touch with the parent rep and he and the principal both feel that this is a great idea to get the school involved. On Monday, I will get the paperwork to complete to use the school grounds because my thought was to have the residents of Virginia and Post put out their luminaries and then gather to socialize on the school's fields.
Jodi,
Thanks for volunteering to organize a luminary event on Virginia. We are still working on trying get informatio on obtainining the supplies for the kits and distributing the gifts.
I also see that you are the president of the Virginia Street block club. I will be the 19thWCA President in 2011, and one area of focus that I want to work on is improving the communication between the various groups in the area. Please feel to communicate with any member of the 19thWCA Executive Committee about any concerns, inputs or questions that you or any Virginia Street resident have.
Hello Dan,
Can you send me your contact information so I may help? I have a few people who have expressed interest in assisting.
LaShay
Good news. LaShay Harris has volunteered to be the coordinator for the Luminary event this year.
