I just learned that there was a home invasion crime on Inglewood the last week of August around 11:30 am. Apparently there were 3 men walking down Inglewood, trying to open various doors. They came across an unlocked porch door, broke in, held an elderly woman at gunpoint, stole her property, left on foot and (maybe) got into a waiting vehicle in another part of the neighborhood..... this is a VERY scary event and a reminder to keep entrance doors LOCKED even during the day time.
I am wondering why this is the first I've heard of this and why we wouldn't be alerted to these types of events in our neighborhood......

That is a horrible story, and we NEED to be informed about these events. Kris at NSC is trying to have the phone alert system activated to be able to inform residents of this kind of crime. Maybe a call or email to her will help give her the sense of urgency, and the backing she needs to help convince the powers that be.
