This is what many of us homeowners wake up to every morning on Elba St.  A few of us seniors are up around 6a picking up the messes in front of and on yards belonging to tenants.  Sure wish  these SW landlords would either better screen their tenants or the City Inspectors would better do their jobs! I have decided to turn my eyes away.  No pay, no benefits, NO work, NOT me!! ~~jussayin

LOL well a little more CRAZY than usual *smile*

I agree with you Judi.  I know what it took to get 579 Post down.  Now 575 is in about the same condition and has been for the past 3 years.  I think of the "green space" the city could have if they got rid of these unattended properties.  We have enough people in our immediate neighborhood that we could do some cool container gardening.  But the question remains....Why do we have to act crazy to get anything done?

WHY????????? yes i remember the efforts/rants for 579.  straight rediculous!!!!

maybe *those* who represent us AND monitor this site would like to offer some suggestions/solutions???  SPEAK!! now is NOT the time for lockjaw!!!!!

WOW special cleanup by City on Friday, fines levied, and this is Tuesday after. AND the person cleaning this dump TODAY asked me about trash pick up. WHAT DID HE NOT UNDERSTAND ABOUT WEDNESDAY TO THE CURB FOR THURSDAY PICK UP?!?!?!?!

So what do we do now? Can you tell me who to call? I called the net office and sent the form to the city. What else?

followup calls n face to face. Oh yeah and dont forget the deranged part. Like i said, Code Enforcement is a joke! Gheese even i can see the chipped peeling paint, crumbling sidewalk, 2nd floor missing and broken screens (safety issues for children). Wonder when the last C of O was issued? Listed owner is Michelle Marinez, 1011 University Ave. Apt. 2, 14607. And u can go to thr CITY website and email Paul Holihan and the Mayor from there. Download the pic and attach it to the emails.....

I did that (emailed Paul Holihan with attached photos).

I will print out photos and make an appearance in person on Thursday.

we can go together!

Sounds good! I got an email response to my form that  filled out and sent.

This s what it said:

Dear Ms. Warren,

Thank you for contacting us regarding the above property.  I have created a case for the area inspector to investigate the trash and debris and various items on the above mentioned property.  The inspector will be Joe Lake and he will visit the property today.  When he verifies the violations, he will send a Notice and Order to the property owner.  Hopefully the issues can be resolved in a timely manner.

Thank you for caring and helping to make the City a nicer place to live. If you have any questions, need to add any comments or just to follow up with this inspection, you can reach Joe Lake at 428-7637.

Lana

so now I guess I have to follow up with Joe Lake. Which i will do.  Now.

Joe Lake will be on Elba Street between 11 am and noon to check out 21 and 95 Elba St.

Joe Lake was at 95 Elba St. at 11:30a Aug. 22; 2012 and left a note on the door! The clothesline issue was a lot easier to solve, but then again neighborhood residents solved the problem. Working with the City is all together different. A smile, 100 feet of clothesline, and 2 hooks, problem solved.  A week of emails, face to face, and deranged City residents..........problem unsolved,,,,,,smh
