Does it never end? Thurston Road have fallen so far into lawlessnes... Lovely.

So far we have:
- Shootings
- Drug Sales
- Prostitution (my judgment)
- Arson

And now we even have ANOTHER corner store where Natural Vibes use to be at the Corner of Thurston and Milton. Goodie, now I can walk up Penhurst to get my loosies and 40's!

What is it going to take before the elected officials of this city (and yes that includes those that live in the 19th Ward) to really see what is going on here? I'm sorry, but Thurston Road is no longer "holding it's own". Anyone out there?

well, I heard about the arson on Thurston yesterday and thought.... "hmmmmm, someone heard about the luminary event and thought it meant setting a big fire"! (sometimes humor and sarcasm are the only way to cope with the reality of this!) Thankfully, nobody got hurt in the Thurston fire, but I still think about the homes lost on Trafalgar, the lives permanently altered as the result of this lawlessness, recklessness and disregard for others.
Speaking of elected officials, did anyone ever receive a 'real' response from the Mayor or his office re: the letters that were sent in the Fall?? Or, how about the RAIN initiative - anyone know what came of that or where the MONEY for that was spent!?? I also read somewhere (don't remember where) that someone was asking for a variance re: signage for Thurston businesses as most are not in keeping with building codes..... anyone know about that or WHY we'd be asking that the city not enforce various code issues!?!
Given that people find used condoms on THurston and other parts of the 19th ward I'm assuming that we have some prostitution happening here. I'm all for self employment and small, start up business but would prefer that they be legal and contribute to our neighborhood in a positive way!
