Coordinating the Luminary Event this year has been so much fun and realatively easy because of all of the work completed in previous years. I am so excited because this year the event has expanded encompassing most of the SouthWest Neighborhood including the Susan B. Anthony District.
What I am most proud of is the unity and willingness for citizens of this city coming together. Sharing the dream is only a small part of the Dr. Kings dream. We must most of all live the dream. I can honestly say that I am living a good portion of his dream by choosing to live in the southwest district. Our neighborhood includes all kinds of people and can become a template for other neighborhoods.
I have been tasked with coordinating the MLK Luminary Event, but the truth is everyone on this site has assisted with the coordination efforts. I am most grateful for that.
Please check the Democrat on Chronicle website for a listing of MLK Events, including our very own MLK Luminary Evening Event.

Currently, we have a few sites listed as hot chocolate and fire warming stations. All stations can be found on the luminaryevening.com website. Please contact me immediately if a site needs to be added deniz6@aol.com. Please click on this link for the event flyer MLK_Luminary_Eveny_Flyer2011%5B1%5D.pdf.
I would encourage all to get out an meet your neighbors, take pictures and have some hot chocolate. Special thanks to all who assisted with communication and the coordination of this event.
