Henrietta, N.Y. - New jobs are coming to West Henrietta.

Security company ADT says it will add about 100 call center jobs to its customer care center.

According to its Web site, the company currently has approximately 100,000 to 150,000 employees and annual sales of over $1,000,000,000.

ADT is being spun off from its parent company Tyco in October

Enrollment Specialist

Job Summary

The Enrollment Specialist oversees the Center’s recruitment and enrollment initiatives for all children in accordance with the Volunteers of America of Western New York, Inc. mission, vision, and policies. The Enrollment Specialist works closely with the Vice President and the Director of Family Services and Operations.

 

Essential Functions

• Coordinate with families and DHS workers to ensure each child enrolled has a funded slot.
• Oversee the enrollment process for new and returning students.
• Create and manages daily enrollment electronically.  
• Create spread sheets to track enrollment daily for all programs, such as
  • Creates enrollment reports
  • Tracking NODs
  • Tracking 21^st Century Enrollment
• Collect paperwork from families and ensures the completion and accuracy of all paperwork.
• Provide tours to potential families.
• Provide follow-up on all enrollment paperwork.

• Coordinate the recruitment and enrollment of all children in order to ensure full enrollment, and maintain the enrollment waitlist.
• Oversee the maintenance of Early Childhood Program and School Age files, and all necessary forms.
• Maintain, or ensure the maintenance of, the COPA and COMET databases.
• Provide support for billing and collections functions.
• Facilitate weekly enrollment and recruitment meetings.

 

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred;
• At least 1-3 years of related experience; 
• Highly motivated, possess strong customer service skills, organized, and detailed oriented;
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and child abuse background checks
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite [i.e.; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.].

Excitement Builds As Trader Joes Prepares To Open In Pittsford

Pittsford, N.Y. - John DiRoma is excited about the new Trader Joe's store in Pittsford Plaza. He hopes to work there. DiRoma has been out of work for a year and has heard good things about the company.

The store will open October 5th, but is hiring full and part-time workers on site, outside its store in Pittsford.

Plaza owners say they have never seen the hype over a new store as they have with Trader Joes. Mike Wilmot told us, "People know the brand, they know that name. They know it offers unique products and is a fun place to shop."

Wilmot says though some retailers are worried about parking issues, there are 900 parking places in that part of the shopping plaza.

He says things might be busy in the opening weeks, but will be fine once it settles down.

Wilmot also says competitors like Wegmans really aren't worried about having a Trader Joe's nearby. For one he says, this is a much smaller store, 14,000 square feet, with unique offerings.
