Hello all!

Lollypop Farm has offered to arrange a spay/neuter clinic specifically for 19th Ward homeless cats, which is a great opportunity!

The date they have offered is Saturday, February 5th (3 weeks from now), the cost will be $50 per cat, and they will be able to take about 30 cats that day. I believe the place will be at their location and the drop-off time will be 8-9 am, but I'm hoping Marian, who is working with their staff person, can confirm those last two details.

That means that we have quite a bit to organize in the next 3 weeks. We need to come up with a list of cats/caretakers, get traps to those who need them, find out how much financial help the caretakers (some of whom have already spent quite a bit of money on spay/neuters in the past year) will need and whether we need to do further (rapid) fundraising, and make sure that everyone who plans to trap a cat for this event knows how to do so or is teamed with someone who has experience.

Let's make the most of this chance!

Do we need to have a face to face meeting, or can we work out these details here?

If you see this message at location19 and want to be on the "19Ward feral cat e-mail list," just hit reply (but not "reply all!") and I'll add you in.

Thanks!

Hi Alice,

I recently joined your group because I care for the feral cats in my neighborhood off W Main. I have had two fixed at Lollypop last year and would love to get two more done on the 5th. Do you already have 30 cats to take? I would like to take two and will pay for them and transport them to Lollypop that day. I have a trap and a carrier. My one feral female is lovable and I will soon post pictures of her on here. We really want to find an indoor home for her. She is very friendly and begging to come in. I would take her but already have three cats, two dogs.

Thank you,

Dawn Noto

Hi Dawn,

Perfect timing -- we still have plenty of spaces! And I'm so glad you are so independent in terms of having your own trap/carrier and finances; that will help hugely.

Alice

Thanks Alice,

I will plan on bringing two cats in on the 5th.
