We had volunteers on Saturday, May 5 and again on Thursday, May 10, to weed, prune, mulch and generally kick-start the gardening season on the corner of Ravenwood and Thurston!  Check out the photos!

Thanks to all of the volunteers, including several from the south west (Genesee Park Blvd. residents both at Clean Sweep AND Day of Caring!), along with other generous souls.

Our Clean Sweep group took on the Ravenwood garden on May 5th.

Joan looks for the grass growing in the flowers.  Which is which?

It's almost 1:00pm and Joan is looking tired.  We are going to need to get back to the park if we want anything left to eat.

Let's pick everything up.

We left the trash at the corner for the City to come pickup and made it back just in time to find a few sandwiches left around 1:30pm.

Sandwiches in hand Joan strops to talk to Ikisha from the NSC office and her young Clean Sweep crew.   Also finishing up their lunch after a hard morning's work were Angie and John Birch.

On Thursday, May 10, the  Day of Caring group came to the garden to continue the work and spread some mulch on the flowerbeds.

<- How much compost????

<- Maria - spreading compost along Ravenwood!

Thanks to everyone for helping!

Joan,  I added pictures from Clean Sweep to yours above.

Thanks, John!  If I did this more often, I'd be better at it (both the gardening AND the Location 19 posts!).

Enjoy the sunshine today!

What a great job our community volunteers did!  And much needed.  It looks great again!  Thanks to all.
