I'll be picking up annuals from Rochester Blossoms on Saturday, May 21, at about 7:30 am.  I can bring them to the garden, and volunteers will be needed to plant on Saturday morning (from 9:30 am - 11:00 am), and finish on Sunday afternoon if needed.

Interested volunteers:  please let me know when you might be available!  I'll also be picking up plants for the pots at various locations along the street.

Make sure to stick around on Saturday for "Ease on Down Thurston Road" - music, sidewalk sales, raffles and fun!

If you love pulling up dandelions and other weeds to plant new flowers, your services are needed Saturday morning.   I stopped by this morning to check out the garden and it definitely needs some TLC from the community.

That looks so sad!  Too bad the weeds seem to grow faster than the "good" plants!  Great exercise, and you can see immediate results (for those who want instant gratification!).  I may be out there for a bit this evening to get a head start!

I'll be there Saturday morning! See you around 9:30 - 10 until 11.

Several garden lovers showed up Saturday morning to help clean and plant.

Here are Perky, Sheila and Joan:

Mark weeds and plants this bed on the north east corner of the garden:

Perky pulls out the whole dandelion root!                   Jackie joins the group.

Later Saturday afternoon while I was walking PAC-TAC we found Landy Atkinson hard at work weeding.

On Sunday morning, Joan invited people to come and continue the work.  Four people were hard at work when I arrived at 10:45.

Landy, Joan and Dan weed the west bed.                   Sheila is weeding the ornamental grass.

Joan is ready to start planting some marigolds.
Landy is still hard at work weeding.                             I pulled maple saplings and weeded

the bushes along the Crowley driveway.

Joan will be glad to know I did not get any dirt on me Sunday either... but I did work up quite a sweat while grubbing around in the bushes pulling weeds ... and you should have seen my hair!  If I had realized how wild I looked I would have taken a picture of myself.   I finished around 12:40.
