Hi Alan,
Nice to meet you. If you see me out on a walk with my German Shepherd dog, wave me down, (I listen to books on my iPod).
Chris
Hey Alan, nice "meeting" you! Hoping to meet you for real at some point. I think it's time to residents of Westfield came out of our houses and attempted to be neighborly. :-) Welcome to Location 19!
Welcome to Location 19. I would encourage you to join the 19th Ward Community Association. We are actively working to address issues in our neighborhood and to represent the neighborhood at City Hall. The more members we have, the more strength we have to address those issues, and the more in-tune we are with what is on the minds of our residents.
We currently do not have a delegate in our District 19 (Westfield plus the side streets up to Genesee Park Blvd). We would like to help organize a district meeting so that a new delegate can be elected.
Please check out our website at http://www.19wca.org/
You can call Ann at our office at 328-6571. Registration-only membership is free to all 19th Ward residents. I would encourage you to consider becoming a paying member, with the Individual level starting at $15.
If you have any questions, comments or input, please feel free to contact me at 527-9619.
Thanks,
DeWain Feller
President, 19th Ward Community Association
Hi Alan,
It was great seeing 4 Westfield residents at the PCIC meeting this evening. It looks like things are off to a good start for getting block groups to come together on your street. Hopefully you will find this site helpful in your efforts. To find everything that pertains to Westfield on the site use the Search Location19.org box in the upper right of the page. I would recommend you "Friend" all fellow Winfield residents since that will make addressing Location19 mail to multiple friends possible. Note also there is a "Block Clubs" tab at the top of the page that contains useful information.
Now that you are a member you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of Location19 and join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there. Being a group member not only lets you post to the group but it will also permit you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.
Please post your picture. Step by step instructions can be found here How to Post Your Picture - It's easy! In a case like Westfield Street where we are trying to get bock groups formed so neighbors get to know one another better, having a picture posted is very helpful.
Please be sure to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site. Without it you will miss the latest activity if you are away from the site for a few days.
I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.
Marian also manages the19ward@yahoogroups.com listserve which is also worthwhile participating in. As was mentioned at the meeting, that is a private group. To join send Marian an email at mlboutet@frontiernet.net requesting an invitation.
John
