Voting awareness

I wanted to create a group to talk about things that are happening that affect us politically.  I think we all need to be smart and active voters, and i hope that starting this group will help to facilitate that for the south west.  This group is about sharing opinions and ideas.  Its good to share feelings about the elected officials who represent us, but this really isn't the place to campaign for someone or flat out lambast the people you dislike. The more active and aware we are in regards…See More

I think I have seen you walking your dog!  Love GSDs.  :-)  I'm considering getting a dog at some point in the near future myself, though probably just a pound mutt.  LOL  Hope to run into you on the street soon!

I have a correction Christopher,  the the 19th Ward Public Safety Committee and the Thurston Road Street Watch meetings are this Wednesday March 30th, not Thursday as I stated.  Hope to see you there.  If you can't make it to these meetings there is also the monthly PCIC (Police-Citizen Interaction Committee) meeting the second Wednesday of each month at which the police officers review similar information.  Those meetings are 7:00 to 8:30 pm at  the Staybridge Suites, 1000 Genesee Street.  The coming PCIC is April 13th.

Welcome to Location 19.  I would encourage you to join the 19th Ward Community Association (such as with the 19th WCA Public Safety Committee, as John pointed out).   We are actively working to address the issues in our neighborhood, and the more members we have, the more strength we have to address those issues.

Please check out our website at http://www.19wca.org/
You can call Ann at our office at 328-6571.  Registration-only membership is free to all 19th Ward residents.  I would encourage you to consider becoming a paying member, with the Individual level starting at $15.

If you have any questions, comments or input, please feel free to contact me at 527-9619.

Thanks,
DeWain Feller

Hi Christopher,

Delighted to have you join Location19 and for posting your picture.  That's a beautiful German shepherd you have.  I'm sure he'll make any would-be burglar look elsewhere.  Note that the 19th Ward Public Safety Committee and the Thurston Road Street Watch meetings are this Thursday March 30th at the Rochester Presbyterian Home on Thurston.  These meetings are run back to back and are a good place to pick up information about what is going on in the neighborhood.

Now that you are a member of Location19, when you are signed-in to the site, you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of Location19.  Also, you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.  Being a group member not only lets you post to the group but it will also permit you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.

Please be sure to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest, on the upper left of the Main page, so you receive an update of new activity on the site.  Without it you will miss the latest activity if you are away from the site for a few days.

I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.

John
