Tell us about yourself:: I was born on Shelter Street. I went to St. Monica's School. We moved to 329 Brooks Ave in 1956. I have a load of lifelong friends from the "old" neighborhood". I graduated from West High in 1965. I have VERY fond memories and a lifelong love of the 19th ward. The many families (big) families, churchs and people I grew up with provided me with confidence, a great education and a sense of self worth that have served me well over these many years.

It's great to have you join us to keep in touch with your old neighborhood. Having a sense of where we have been is helpful to deciding where we want to go and how to get there. Getting some insights into the schools in the city when you attended them, would be enlightening. The "Education Accountability" and the "Parent and Community Coalition for Educational Change" groups will hopefully be delving into this key issues for getting the city back on track.

Now that you are a member, when you sign-in you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of Location19 and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.

Being a group member not only lets you post to the group but it will also permit you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.
