Hi Kathryn,
I'm delighted to have you join us on Location19. I remember Marian talking about meetings she attended on 19WCA projects with Al. It has been a busy year here in the 19th Ward trying to save our neighborhood schools. Actually you could help us if you are still in touch with friends or children of friends who still live in the area. We are trying to reinvigorate a school group for the 19th Ward to work with the schools. We need to get parents and grandparent or other residents interested in working with the schools to get active in the 19WCA. If you can spread the word with friends, that would be great. We have succeeded in getting the District to agree to refurbish and reopen School 16, but the community has to be mobilized to work with the school to insure we provide a neighborhood school environment that reestablishes School 16 as a model school.
