Welcome to Location19 Melissa.

I'm delighted to have another teacher from School 16 joining Location19.  We are looking to showcase as much as possible School 16 topics to keep the whole 19th Ward community focused onto bringing the School 16 students and staff back to a renovated Post Avenue location.  To that end I encourage all School 16 teachers and parents to join Location19 and keep a healthy and vibrant conversation going about what is going on at Freddie Thomas and what need to be going on in the 19th Ward to ensure a successful return to the Post Avenue location.

To that end, it is important that teachers also join the 19th Ward Community Association and encourage parents to do likewise.  We need to do that to give the  Association the motivation and volunteers needed to form an active and strong 19WCA School Committee to champion school issues.  I'm hoping to get several School 16 teachers to come to 19WCA CONVENTION 2012 on November 16 to develop the needed relationships with other association member at a School 16 display table. 

Now that you are a member, when you sign-in you can post to the Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section of Location19 and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.  For instance to join SW Education Forum  click on the group and in the upper right of the group page, just under the banner picture next to your name, click on +Join SW Education Forum and you are a member!  Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself. 

There is a ton of information you can search for and read through on Location19. Be sure you make use of the search options. 

It's a good idea to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site even if you don't check Location19 every day. You can also find a list of new information posted by looking at the Latest Activity column on the right side of the Main page.
