Welcome to Location19 Willie.
I'm really delighted you joined. I hope you'll find Location19 interesting. A major thrust in Location19 this past 2 years has involved our schools. Things really heated up 1 1/2 years ago when the District closed School 16 on Post and shipped kids across town to Freddie Thomas, then said they wanted to close School 10 and move the Expeditionary Learning program to School 1. The SouthWest Common Council revived its Education Committee to deal with this in July of 2012 then last spring the 19th Ward Community Association revived its Schools Committee to ensure that the 19th Ward had a strong voice in renovating Bldg #16 on Post and also make sure 10, 29 and 44 stay open and in the area. The SW Education Forum group on Location19 was started to document and advance this work.
Now that you are a member of Location19, when you sign-in, you can post to the main Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section or the site and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there.
