Recently, 19th Ward Community Cats brought in over a ton of clothing and household goods for its “Stuff the Truck” fundraiser. With a cash donation, the total earned was $485. Plans are to make this an annual event. Thank you to all who helped and donated.

This year has brought an explosion of kittens! The group purchased a kitty condo on wheels, foldable, with two doors and three shelves to care for some of them. Terri has recruited 2 more foster homes to help with our surplus of kittens. Adoption fees are low but additional donations are encouraged. Meanwhile, Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Release (TNVR) goes on! Community Cats trappers go out every two weeks, and have successfully brought the total number of cats TNVR'd so far this year up to 30.

Right now, Community Cats looks good for funds, but those TNVR fees add up. A yard sale will be coming up next, so hold onto items for donation. And the annual food drive will be in October, although those feeding backyard ferals can always use a little extra help. If anyone wants to kick in a bag or case of food, the group will see it goes to a place in need. You can also help look for homes for kittens they are fostering, currently around 14. Remember, kittens often do better in pairs, and adopting two is twice the fun and twice the love!

For more information about donations, adopting, or to join the group, call Gail at 585-420-8861.
