Genesee Valley Little League Takes Shape

Thought I'd post an update on the progress of restarting little league in the 19th ward.

To date I've met the district commissioner and the chair of the eastside little league. We are progressing. Sometimes its best to start over and thats what we are doing. We will be expanding the league boundaries to include nearly all the southwest quadrant.

Right now we are focused on recruiting adult volunteers. Parents of potential players are especially wanted. In order to move to phase two of the rebuilding process we must have a board chairman, secretary, treasurer, league commissioner and sponsorship coordinator. There are 5 more positions but those are the ones that will let us move to the next step.

We also need coaches and umpires. If you like to call it the way you see it then become an umpire. We'll get you trained so you can call strrreeerike, and live to tell about it.

You wanna be coaches, theres a kid out there just waiting to here you say "get in the game!". Come on. I know you want to coach. We can even train ya.

Make no mistake. This is a labor of love and if you throw your hat in the ring you will be working. But, its for our children and the overall environment of our neighborhood.

I'm excited. I'm meeting new people and we are forging ahead. By the grace of God I believe we will hear "play ball" at Genesee Park  in 2013.

Till then I'll try to give a weekly update of our progress. Now don't you just want to get involved???
