Can anyone tell me how I might find the original floor plan for my home. I am at 57 Evangeline St., between Brooks and Ellicott St. It would be much appreciated.

Sometime ago I seem to remember an effort to get Greenlight in the 19th Ward/SW Quadrant. Is that a dead issue now?

Most of you know I'm trying hard to restart Genesee Valley Little League. As I struggle to get the word out that we are now registering kids, the idea kind of hit me this morning: suppose we had a low power radio station committed to the Southwest Quadrant and the issues that affect us.
For the first time in 12 years congress is finally clearing the way for low power community based stations to apply for FCC permits to operate. Such a station might be on the air continuously…

I've just spoken to Emilye Crosby who lives on Weldon. She is concerned about the state of former owner occupied homes becoming rental property too. Even if your street isn't affected you are still affected. I'm asking those concerned to join me in setting aside a time to speak to city council about zoning laws and ordinance that may help us preserve home ownership. I'm not a lawyer but I don't believe this sort of thing could so easily take place in some of our suburban neighborhoods. It's…

Maybe it's just me or maybe I'm late to the game, but I think I'm seeing a bad trend around my neck of the 19th ward. That is the turning of good single family homes into apartments. A former long time neighbor and friend in the house behind ours put her home up for sale. Gone for cash in 4 days. Guess what will happen next. This is a very nice, well maintained single family home. As the UR expands it's student population some very good single family homes around the Brooks avenue area are…

League preparations continue at a good pace. At the present we need a vice-president, secretary and treasurer. These are all temporary positions necessary for the league to re-charter. A permanent board of directors will be elected in March 2013. If enough volunteers to form a board do not come forth the league will be dissolved. But, I hope not.
If you are a parent with league age children (5 to 9) and you want your child to play…

This post is as much an appeal as it is an update. We have started putting posters and flyers in all the southwest quadrant rec centers and schools. This week we began handing out initial signup sheets to gauge potential player and parent interest. We should be putting flyers, posters and signup sheets in local places of worship next week. We now need three more volunteers to fill the positions of secretary, treasurer and sponsorship…

Thought I'd post an update on the progress of restarting little league in the 19th ward.
To date I've met the district commissioner and the chair of the eastside little league. We are progressing. Sometimes its best to start over and thats what we are doing. We will be expanding the league boundaries to include nearly all the southwest quadrant.
Right now we are focused on recruiting adult volunteers. Parents of potential players are especially wanted. In order to move to…

The initial meeting to try and re-establish little league baseball in the 19th got of to a good dat art yesterday at Aenon Baptist church. Yesterdays meeting proved again that often you don't need a room full of people just a rom with the right people.
Great ideas were shared and we have been promised re-organizational help from Little league International as well as lots of local experienced help.
One proposal put forth by the president of the eastside little league program,…
