From Susan Morehouse -
Minutes of February Meeting - Note a couple of minor changes in red for clarification.
Arnett Block Association
Because we were supposed to have Mary Spinelli from RIT present to our group about her research project about "Community Views on Criminal Justice" we did not have police officers join us. They were trying to give us some space to talk. However, Mary Spinelli had to cancel at the last minute because she came down with the flu. She will join us at our meeting in March.
We had about 5 people present, including Dave Culeton from the corner building on Arnett and Rugby. Dave Culeton is planning to buy the building [next door, the Buzzin Bee] from the owner and have it torn down and turned into a parking lot. He is considering entering an agreement with Moses, the current owner of the Buzzin Bee business to open a full service grocery store in his [corner] building instead. He is also moving forward with a laundromat in the eastern store front of the building.
We noted that 1/2 of the double at 329/331 Arnett is boarded up and a lot of household stuff is in a mess on one side of the building. Susan will contact David Hawkes and ask what is going on there, have an inspector check it out and see who the current manager/landlord is of the building.
Susan Deeb reported a problem with 2 snowmobiles, 2 dirt bikes and 2 ATVs that are running a "race track" on Warwick particularly around noon or late afternoon. They are going in people's front yards and driveways without permission. They have no helmets or licenses that can be seen. There are no headlights or taillights, yet are in the street too. Is this legal and what can be done about it? They are congregating at 68 Warwick. Susan M. will follow up.
Susan M. shared about a new outreach to the youth in the community through Caleb Ministries, headed up by Gary Ham and some men from New Life Fellowship and other churches in the area. The training begins this coming Saturday.
