Margy, you have done some research and if low price is not the objective, I would say go with your recommendations. (Sorry Lowe's.) But Paul should check around although I am inclined to go with your thoughts on this.

I had Dan Fulmer Co. replace gutters and 2 screen/storm doors. THeir prices were very competitive - the doors were 1/3 less than Rochester Colonial and were higher quality than what you will find in the 'big box' stores (sorry Mark). Fulmer also installs windows - i did a TON of research on replacement windows and we replaced with Simonton brand.
We had Dalton Heating install a furnace and central A/C- they also were competitive with price AND really seemed to understand what we wanted/need.
Ray Case has been in the hardwood floor business a long time and has been recommended by a lot of people.
