Greetings Neighbor!

Over the past few months, Mr. Hawkes and I have been talking about a new training opportunity for those of you who are out there tirelessly giving of yourselves to make our community great.

During this time, we have worked with our partners from Monroe County, The College at Brockport's Institute for Poverty Studies and Economic Development,  Neighbor Works and The Rochester Area Community Foundation to create a pilot program that we hope will lead to even bigger and better things for the entire community.

Please find the program application attached.  In it, you will see that participants will have the opportunity to gain knowledge in the areas that were deemed most important by community members like yourself, who took part in a survey conducted last year.

The topics of study, which were determined directly from results of the survey are:  Team Building, Conflict Resolution, Community Planning and the Role of the Citizen, and Serving on City Boards and Commissions. The times and dates of the classes are in the application.

There is no fee for taking these classes. What we do ask is for those  who apply to be  available to attend all of the sessions.

This pilot project will be evaluated for use in future neighborhood programs so participant feedback is critical.

This program is for both current community leaders and for people who may one day take on that role.

Please pass along this information to any leaders or future leaders who you think could benefit from the program.

If you have any questions please feel free to call, email or stop in to the Southwest Neighborhood.

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017

Applicants will be notified of acceptance to the program by Friday, March 3, 2017

We look forward to seeing you.
