Hello Everyone -
I am part of a group that is putting together a training program for community members. We have been brainstorming ideas and there are many possibilities from "how to become a non-profit" to "City boards and committees - what they do and how to join". ContinueHi John,
It was a pleasure meeting you last night. Welcome to Location19. I see you are off to a good start and have joined a group. Here is some info to help you use this site. One of the most important things to do in order to follow what is going on in Location19.org is to subscribe to the Daily Email Digest so you receive an update of new activity on the site even if you don't check it every day. You can also find a list of new information posted by looking at the Latest Activity column on the Main page.
Check out A Brief Overview on Location19 Structure to get familiar with what's where. Now that you are a member, when you sign-in, you can post to the Main Discussion Forum, Events calendar and Blog section and you can join any of the various groups to participate in the discussions there. You can also indicate your plan to attend events posted in the Event calendar by using the RSVP box in the opened event. Only the most recently added 20 groups are shown in the column to the right. In the tabs under the banner picture, Be sure to check out the "All Groups - Icons" sub-tab under the Connect tab. We are currently up to 68 groups and over 680 members. Please check out the Public Safety tab and let me know if any of the information about the SW NSC needs to be updated.
You have already Joined a group so I don't have to tell you how. Being a group member lets you post to the group and also permits you to receive email notifications from that group about events and other info that may not be posted on Location19 itself.
There is a ton of information you can search for and read through on Location19. Be sure you make use of the search options.
I look forward to your participation. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call Marian or me at 328-4271.
John
