Opened in August of 2012, this favorite of the neighborhood has come a long way since its beginnings across the street at 1147 S. Plymouth. As has its owner, who has moved from Pittsford, to Disney in southern Florida, and now to his home and businesses on S. Plymouth. And in doing so, Anthony has transformed this triangle at S. Plymouth, Cottage, and Jefferson into renovated buildings that make this a much more attractive location.

Most attractive though are the fabulous sandwiches, made with fresh and best bread in the city, from Martusciello's on Lyell Ave. These make every sub a dream, whether the roast beef with blue cheese, the Cubano, a favorite, or a vege Caprese with tomatoes, fresh mozz and basil pesto. Wraps are also available, or salads. You will find something you love. Or create your own. Check out the sides, milkshakes and more. Prices very reasonable.

After students break for Christmas in 2017, watch for the addition of pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks and fries. Ductwork still to be installed for the new fryer.

As Tony puts it, “in 2005 I made the best decision of my life. I dropped out of college and moved to Florida to work at theme parks, pool bars, and restaurants. I loved it and knew I wanted my own place someday. In 2011 during a visit home my brother told me he invested in some property and was looking for someone to open an eatery in the space. This was meant to be. I left Florida and went to work making my dream come true. With help of family and friends, we opened Deli Sandro's less than a year later. My mother was my first helper and many friends followed, taking up residence in the area. The first years were tough but we focused on making the best sandwiches. We have a fantastic team.”

That's without a doubt, as you will see when you visit.
