I am wondering why drug dealers are out in the open all day long ,on  the corner Fost and Genesee. There is no attempt to hide what is going on ,at any time during the day and night men are out there ,going right up to cars and openly making transactions. What is going on here ?  Blatant is the word that best describes what is happening, I know the police must see this . I just dont get it

Been a problem corner for quite a while. GREAT chicken wings & pizza on the other corner, but you take your chances for safety going in.
That particular open air drug market has been operating as long as I can remember. In many cases the police are well aware of these kinds of activities and all their various locations.  It is precisely why thugs feel free to set up their businesses in certain neighborhoods and operate with impunity. Seems the only time justice gets served is on TV cop shows.
I am not aware of this particular issue, but i would strongly encourage those of you who are to bring it to the attention of Adam McFadden, PCIC and the 19th Ward Public safety committee. These groups are supposed to be working on these types of very specific issues. I've heard all kinds of reasons why these things are difficult to stop, shut down, etc but the excuses are getting difficult to tolerate. As citizens, we need to keep pressure on those who have the ability/authority to do something - our part, i think, is to make reports, keep calling and share information.
Thank you , I will get intouch with Adam Mcfadden, I have some info abut the PCIC meeting and I am hoping to attend the next one .
The 19th Ward Public Safety Committee meets every LAST Wednesday of the month at 6:30 PM at The Rochester Presbyterian Home at 256 Thurston Road.  The meeting is immediately followed by Councilman Adam McFadden's Thurston Road Street Watch.  The next meeting will be October 26th.  Crime Prevention Officers from the NSC office will be at the Public Safety meeting and generally stay through Adam's meeting.   They often discuss some of the same information as is covered at the PCIC meeting and welcome input from those present.  This would be an excellent place for you to voice your concerns.

There are several schools in walking distance from the site , I feel sorry for the kids who have to walk past drug dealers , and who have to cope with the major risks of shoot outs, I feel that it is only a matter of time before a tragedy occurs there. I am going to try make every effort to have this issue brought out into the light. As I have said there is nothing hidden about what is happening, these guys are not affraid of the police.
